The dulcimer weekend
features hands-on music workshops during the day for all levels of players.
The workshops will be primarily on mountain dulcimer and hammered dulcimer
with additional workshops on other folk instruments. Our workshop
leaders/performers are experienced musicians from Ohio, West Virginia and
beyond.
General guided tours will occur daily up till concert
time. In addition to the musicians, visitors will see various artisans
through out the weekend. Scheduled are live demonstrations of blacksmithing,
basket making, tinsmithing, fiddle making and more!
There will be concerts on Friday and Saturday evening. The Friday concert
will features a more informal approach of listening to great music at a
coffee house. It features various work shop leaders.The Saturday evening
concert will feature Wendy Songe, an award-winning singer, songwriter,
multi-instrumentalist, poet, performer, teacher & nationally touring
musician, is our feature entertainer. Wendy is a musical menagerie you will
not want to miss! The concerts are included in the general admission.
New for 2017 is the addition of onsite food service
throughout the day on Saturday!
Vendors will be available
throughout the weekend to sell dulcimers and supplies The Fort New Salem
Visitor Center & Gift Shop will also be open.
