The 200 Club

The bedrock of our future fundraising efforts is The 200 Club which  was established to guarantee that The Fort has the working capital necessary to move forward. The concept is simple, we seek a minimum of 200 people who pledge at least $500 per year for three years. Your contribution can be annually or semi-annually. Members of  Club will be recognized in our newsletter, as well as in some permanent way on the grounds of Fort New Salem. Solidifying The 200 Club is vital because once we have our working budget taken care of we can use other monies raised for major projects and facilities renovations.   Click here for printable registration form

Fort New Salem Endowment

The Community Foundation of North Central West Virginia (CFNCWV) has established a new endowment fund to support the ongoing development of Fort New Salem. The fund was created with $5,000 contributed by the Clarksburg-Harrison Cultural Foundation, according to its president, Ian Rudick. “The donation was originally given to us by Edith Wilson, a Doddridge County native and former student at Salem College,” Rudick said. “Mrs. Wilson requested that the money be used in some way to support Fort New Salem, so we started this permanent endowment that will benefit our area for many years to come.”

Any individual, family, business or organization can make a tax-deductible contribution to the Fort New Salem Endowment Fund. The original gift and all future donations will be invested by the Community Foundation to maximize their growth. Once the fund reaches a minimum of $10,000, the CFNCWV will provide the annual net income from this fund to Fort New Salem.

“The Community Foundation is proud to manage this endowment fund, which will help to preserve the history and culture of western Harrison County and improve the quality of life in North Central West Virginia,” said D. Max Francis, executive director of the CFNCWV. “This is one more way that our organization is benefiting the citizens of the region.”

The Community Foundation manages a growing number of donor funds with assets and pledged assets of more than $2 million. Income from these funds is used to award several annual scholarships, support the arts in a variety of ways. Tax-deductible donations can be made to through the Community Foundation of NCWV, 1000 Technology Drive, Suite 2230, Fairmont, WV 26554. Additional information about the Community Foundation and its established funds is available on its web site, www.ncwvfoundation.org.
