Did you know that FORT NEW SALEM gave birth to the APPLE BUTTER FESTIVAL? What started as a fall festival at the Fort evolved into the SALEM APPLE BUTTER FESTIVAL. While, today, the festival is its own entity, FORT NEW SALEM remains an active participant in this community celebration!

SPECIAL FESTIVAL HOURS AT FORT NEW SALEM
Fort New Salem will be open on Saturday (October 5) from 10 – 5 PM in celebration of the community Apple Butter Festival. General admission to the Fort is $7 with children 10 and under admitted free. Tours will occur on each day. We will have multiple artisans scheduled to demonstrate. We will have maple syrup cotton candy made on site and available to purchase.

- candle making
- wood working
- blacksmith
- pottery
- apple butter making
- herbology
- printing / paper marbling
